Google PageRank Drops for Major Websites

While Browsing the internet today I noticed that Apple.com’s PageRank dropped from 10 to 9. Intrigued, i dug more into the Top PageRank Websites and found out that many PR10 websites have dropped to PR9:
Apache.org
Cisco.com
IBM.com
StatCounter.com
Here are some screenshots with the Google Toolbar on:
These PageRank drops are probably due to recent Infrastructure Updates on the Google Search Engine PageRank. Some info about Algorithm Changes on Matt’s weblog post.
A list of the websites with PageRank 10 can be found here. Last updated Jan 25 2007, now obsolete.
Update: Surprisingly, it seems that Yahoo.com’s PageRank has grown from 9 to 10.
Comments are welcome. If you find this information helpful, please link back or share. Thank You!

A high PageRank is always what sites strive for so the fact that some major ones have seen a decrease will be very upsetting for them. Since these major sites no longer have a PageRank of 10 then I wonder now if anyone can actually achieve a PageRank of 10. I’m sure they are on Google’s back over this.

Hi,
How did you find out about this drop?
Do you monitor the page rank of websites on a daily basis?

Itamar: No, I usually browse the web using Firefox with Google Toolbar and noticed the change instantly when surfing Apple’s website. It’s a great tool…
