A nice guide. I'm suppose to do something similar using a screencast but I can't figure out how to zoom in to details.

The Preview function is still available. Once you save a draft of a post, a preview link appears on the top right of the editing window. When you click it, you visit the draft on a new page instead of in a frame on the same page.

I am pretty sure this is to improve performance. I think it would be nice if there was an option to open the preview in another window or tab instead of going to a new page and then having to click back to the writing/editing page.

From reading your conclusion, i think i might hold off upgrading my site. I have so many hacks in place that it would be a nightmare trying to merge the two, for what seems a small gain. As for the preview function, like you, i could not live without it.
